Modern enviromental organizations are nothing new under the sun. Taoists cared a lot about nature too. Modern GO and NGO exclude gods from their enviromental work. On the contrary, Taoists used to cooperate closely with the spirits from Department for Preservation of Wilderness. I think that nature was in a better shape with less money but with gods involved.
