Crowley, while never performing the Abramelin Operation as written (though he did begin an abortive attempt), claimed to have attained to the K&C of HGA while riding across China. Actually, Crowley evoked Aiwaz while he was in Shanghai in April 1906.
He evoked him with help of his friend Miss A. Simpson who spent most of her life in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
She knew Crowley from the time they were together members of the Golden Dawn in London.
They were surely very good friends, but not so much is known about her life. When he was in Egypt, she was in Hong Kong so they spent time by paying astral visits to each other.
