Elohim is usually employed in the Old Testament for the one and only God of Israel, whose personal name was revealed to Moses as YHVH. Elohim is a plural form of singular Eloah (God in Hebrew), which appears more than 70 times in the Tanakh. However, it is also possible that Elohim is the plural form of El.
Elohim is sometimes used for other gods. It is often accompanied by the article “Ha” to emphasize “The God”.
Elohim is a very special word also in that that it has a feminine gender and added male plural. It is characterized by duality and male-female principals. So, it can be translated in many ways according to different contexts, as God, gods, goddess or goddesses and gods.
Though Elohim is plural in form, it is generally understood as singular, as in Genesis, “In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth”.
Elohim appears in the 5th Pentacle of the Moon together with God’s name Ihova and the angel Azarel and Jahadiel.
Elohim is probably the same as Eloij, the God’s name of Shemhamphorash of Moses. Eloih appears in the seventh of seven sets of Shemhamphoras both in the Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses and Semiphoras und Schemhamphoras Salomonis regis. In both cases Elohim is to be named when you do “something wonderful” or are “in great need”.
Elohim is certainly the same as Eloim, how it is written in the sixth of seven sets of Shemhamphoras of Moses both in The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses and Semiphoras und Schemhamphoras Salomonis regis. It was specify that Moses received this name to destroy all sorcery and evil.
Elohim is also certainly the same as Eloym, that appears as the God’s name of Shemhamphorash of Adam from Sepher Raziel, where it belongs to the seventh of seven sets of Shemhamphoras. There it should be used each thing, in all work and time, and with the 4 elements.
Eloym is also the God’s name of Shemhamphorash of Moses from Sepher Raziel, where it belongs to the sixth of seven sets of Shemhamphoras. There, with Eloym, you will destroy evil and all enchantments.
Eloym is also the God’s name of Shemhamphorash of Adam from Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses, where it belongs to the seventh of seven sets of Shemhamphoras. To be named in the beginning of each undertaking. It also appears in the same position in Semiphoras und Schemhamphoras Salomonis regis.
Some cabalists write it Elohim like Eloheem.
Elohim rules the left pillar of Tree of Life, Boaz. All sephirot on the left side of the Tree of Life are influenced by Elohim:
– Binah – YHVH Elohim
-Geburah – Elohim Gabor
– Hod – Elohim Tzabaot
The angels of Beni Elohimi constantly sing songs dedicated to God. They were mentioned several times in Old Testament. The cabalist William Grey has said that they stand for the first awareness of humans about Divinity and that they were the first ones who whispered to human ears: “You will be like gods”. Grey has argued that Beni Elohimi inspire children to believe in God. According to Jewish lore, Beni Elohimi are Angels of thrones, Archangels or Isimi. They are said to occupy 8th, 9th or 10th rang of heavenly hierarchy. Many cabalists think that Beni Elohimi are angels of Hod.
Elohim appears as a God’s name in variety of forms:
Elohim Gabor – The God’s name from The Sixth and Seventh Moses Book. It could be used in the evocation of Aladiah.
Elohim Hayyim – It’s meaning in Hebrew is “The Living God.” It is mentioned more than 30 times in the Bible and it is often used in prayers by the Jews.
Elohim Kim Eloha Ahad – The 65h God’s name according to The Sixth and Seventh Moses Book, linked to Damabiah.
Elohim Tzabaot – Alternate forms Elohim Tz’ Vah-Oht, Elohim Sabaot, Elohim Sabbat). As Tzabaot means “Army”, Elohim Tzabaot is usually translated as God of Army or God of Host. By uniting the words of Elohim and Tzabaot together, some cabalists get the following construction: “God of the Army who rules over universe in wisdom and harmony”. Other cabalists think that Elohim Tzabaot is essentially a female divine power that exists in all beings of the universe.
Elohin Tzabaot rules over Hod. Elohim Tzabaoth represents the perfect balance between the intellect of Hod and the soul of Netzchah. The magician should know that Elohim Tzabaoth is the highest aspect of Hod. He or she should use the name of Elohim Tzabaoth when they are about to make a petition, conjure or evoke spirits from Mercury or Hod. All beings and energies of Mercury or Hod are ruled by Elohim Tzabaoth. We may say that God is directly informed of all things related to Hod through his name Elohim Tzabaoth. God needs the assistance of angelic hierarchies and messengers when he wants to be informed or act in all other parts of Hod, except the highest one that is ruled by his name Elohim Tzabaoth.
Hod and Netzchah explain each other. In that light, it can be said that Netzchah is a man expressed as a woman, while Hod is a woman expressed as a man. Elohim Tzabaoth represents the spiritual part of Mercury. In that part Mercury is both male and female. For this reason, Elohim Tzabaoth might also be represented with the symbol of Hermaphrodite. On the parallel right side of the Tree of Life, Elohim Tzabaot cooperates with Jahve Tzabaot, God’s name for Netzchah.
Grand Grimoire, Heptameron, The Key of Solomon, Lemegaton and Sixth and Seventh Book of Moses offer different possibilities how to use this divine name. The Solomon’s grimoires emphasise that Elohim Tzabaoth expresses God’s mercy, glory and knowledge. Prophet Joseph invoked the name of Elohim Tzabaoth when he decided to run away from his brothers to Egypt. Moses invoked Elohim Tzabaoth when he started the exodus of Jewish people from Egypt. The Sixth and Seventh Book of Moses stresses that archangels, gods of Mercury, Michael and animals are ruled by Elohim Tzabaoth.
This God’s name is mentioned as Elohim Sabaoth in Semiphoras und Schemhamphoras Salomonis regis. Semiphoras und Schemhamphoras Salomonis regis. As Elohim Sabbat, it is mentioned as the 58th God’s name according to The Sixth and Seventh Moses Book, linked to Jeialel.
Elohim Zodkini – God’s name related to the Shem angel Kahetel according to The Sixth and Seventh Moses Book.
Eloe – The God’s name in a Shemhophorosh prayer from The Sworn Book of Honorius. The same book mentions Eloe as one of the 25 most holy names of God. It is most probably the same as Elohe, the 56th God’s name from The Sixth and Seventh Moses Book, that could be linked to the 56th Shem angel Poiel. Both Eloe and Elohe, comes from Elohei, which means “God of…”. In Judaism it is usually taken that Elohei never appears without the qualifying descriptor, but the God’s name Eloe or Elohe does exactly that. Besides, the God’s name Eloycould also be the alternate name for Eloe or Elohe. Eloy was mentioned in a prayer from Liber Juratus as one of the 24 most holy names of God.
Some examples of Elohei meaning include:
– Elohei Avraham – The God of Abraham
– Elohei Chasdi – The God of my Kindness
– Elohei Elaohim – The God of Gods
– Elohei Ma’uzzi – God of my Strength
– Elohei Mikkarov – God who is Near
– Elohei Merachok – God who is Far
– Elohei Marom – The God of Heights
– Elohei Mishpat – The God of Justice
– Elohei Tzur – The God of Rock
– Elohei Kedem – The Eternal God
– Elohei Tehillati – The God of my Praise
– Elohei Avotenu – The God of our Fathers
Eloy – It is possible that Eloy is the same as Eloe or Elohe. Eloy is mentioned as the God’s name of Shemhamphorash of Adam in Sepher Raziel. There it belongs to the seventh of seven sets of Shemhamphoras. It should be used in each thing, in all work and time, and with the four elements.
Eloy is also the God’s name of Shemhamphorash of Moses from Sepher Raziel. Moses, like Adam, received this God’s name in the seventh of seven sets of Shemhamphoras. Moses was told that Eloy should be mentioned when you do any miracles or if you are in any anguish.
Eloy is also the God’s name of Shemhamphorash of Adam from The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses, where it belongs to the seventh of seven sets of Shemhamphoras. There it should be named in the beginning of each undertaking. It also appears in the same position in Semiphoras und Schemhamphoras Salomonisregis.
Eloy is again the God’s name in a Shemhophorosh prayer from The Sworn Book of Honorius.
Finally, it appears as the God’s name related to Lauviah, according to The Sixth and Seventh Moses Book.
Eloy Bischlam Llashlam – The 70th God’s name according to The Sixth and Seventh Moses Book, linked to Jabamiah. Jabamiah is one of the original cosmic teachers of cabala. He is also a guardian of our world’s philosophers. According to Ambelain, this angel teaches about controlling of the four elements, mastery over nature, harmony and regeneration. He is also one of the best teachers of Akasha principle.
Ely – It is the God’s name mentioned in Liber Juratus. It is obviously a form of Elohim. This book instructs to write it down in the middle of the Seal of the True and Living God, together with Tau and El.
